I journal quick notes after training: energy level, mood, one thing I did better than last time. Helps me see progress beyond just appearance.

I think I hit a plateau. Weight hasn't moved in two weeks and I'm doing everything by the book. Normal or am I missing something? How do you actually break through this without losing motivation?
Oh yeah, been there. My scale froze for what felt like forever 😂 It’s frustrating but honestly two weeks isn’t even a “real” plateau. Sometimes your body’s just catching up.
Same thing happened to me. I changed a couple exercises and added one extra set on leg day - boom, movement again. Tiny tweaks can go a long way.
Not gonna lie, for me it was food. Thought I was “eating healthy,” but I wasn’t hitting protein and had too many little snacks sneaking in. Once I fixed that, weight shifted in like 5 days 😅
Try a deload week. Seriously. I was skeptical, but taking it easy for 5–6 days helped me reset mentally and physically. Came back stronger and scale moved.
Jason Murphy (@jasonmurphy):
I didn’t see a dramatic physical change at the start. What I did notice early was better stamina and less soreness after workouts. Visible progress showed around the 5–6 week mark for me. I think expectations can mess things up - small consistent wins beat waiting for some “big transformation.”
Honestly, I felt stronger in about two weeks, but body composition took a solid month. I also got addicted to finishing the daily check-ins. Routine matters almost more than results in the beginning.
My flexibility and posture improved faster than anything. Muscles showed later. I’d say about 4 weeks to see tone, but mental shift was earlier. If you stay consistent, results stack up quietly.

I used BetterMe for a bit. It was alright, but I kept getting stuck repeating similar routines. MadMuscles pushes progression better. I do wish it adapted intensity a little quicker sometimes, but overall I like it.
I’m kind of a beginner - is MadMuscles friendly for starters or too serious?
Tried Freeletics. Great intensity but too overwhelming for me long-term. MadMuscles feels more balanced, and support is easier to reach if something isn't clear.

For those who’ve used MadMuscles - how long did it take before you started noticing real results? Curious what to expect. Did your progress match your expectations, or did it take longer?
Took me longer, maybe 6 weeks. I started slow and didn’t follow the food plan at first, so that probably delayed things. Once I added protein and tracked meals a bit, it got much faster.
Around week 2 I felt improvement, around week 4 it looked like improvement. I do the dynamic routines mostly, so I noticed cardio and strength changes at the same time. MadMuscles works if you actually stick with the schedule.

Speaking as a trainer here 💪 A plateau doesn’t mean failure - it's your body adapting. Track more than just weight: measurements, photos, how clothes fit. If you're stuck longer than ~3 weeks, increase training intensity slightly or adjust calories by 150–200. Slow tweaks beat big changes.
Plateaus = part of fitness life.
Or… get a new scale 🤣 kidding, but sometimes the mirror shows progress before numbers do.
Add walks. Seriously. Steps fix magic things.
Love all of this. Going to add steps and maybe tweak my routine a bit. Didn’t expect so many replies - thanks!

Before MadMuscles I tried FitBod and Freeletics. They were okay, but not sure they fit my goals long-term. For those who tested different apps - how does MadMuscles compare? Anything you feel it’s missing?
I just like simple. MadMuscles tells me what to do and I do it. Been using it 3 months - happy so far.
Freeletics was brutal. MadMuscles is way more doable.
