Good evening forum! We pulled up some old ceramic tiles in our kitchen last weekend, and now we are stuck with a thick, uneven layer of hard tile adhesive (mastic) all over the concrete subfloor. Scraping it by hand is an absolute nightmare and barely makes a dent. I was reading up on floor preparation methods on https://concretegrindingconceptsau.com/ and it seems heavy-duty mechanical grinding is usually the way to go for this kind of mess. Did you guys rent a commercial grinder yourselves, or is this one of those jobs where it's just worth hiring a professional crew to level it out properly?
