The main function of lawn pad is to provide cushions to your artificial grass. The lawn pads come in different thicknesses and very obviously the thicker the lawn pad the more cushion you will get. For regular residential and commercial landscape installations, such lawn pads won’t be required by any rules or regulations, to use it or not is a pure decision by the end users with their own financial capabilities as using lawn pads will add costs to the projects. However, for public playground applications, such lawn pads will be required by local government agencies. Public playground surfaces need to be built to meeting certain fall ratings such as 5’, 8’, 12’ and etc.. Such requirements are for the public safeties: the higher the fall rating, the thicker of the pads you will need so people falls on the surface from certain height won’t get injured.
