Can you help explain what Pile Height is?

  • I keep reading this and I just wanted further clarification on what it is? Is it the length of the grass? Are they all the same height or does it vary? Thanks!

  • Good day, Philip! And thank you so much for your question.

The Pile Height of artificial grass products is the length of the fibre from the backing all the way to the tip of the grass. This is measured in millimetres. Pile Height can affect faux grass in many different ways.

One way is flexibility. The longer the fibres (or Pile Height), the more flexibility your grass will have. This means that your artificial grass will likely bend more easily and offer less resistance but will feel softer to the touch because you're getting less resistance. The shorter the fibres, the more consistent resistance and less flexibility (and can feel a little tougher).

Depending on your needs, our megagrass products offer a wide variety of Pile Heights that provide the ideal flexibility, touch, and resistance for you.

Feel free to use this chart to compare: https://megagrass.com/pages/collection-comparison

And if you have other needs, please feel free to ask! Have a great day!
