Is higher pile height harder to maintain?

Are the blades going to have a harder time standing up if the pile height is higher?

Not really. In my opinion, the pile height of artificial grass has little to do with maintenance especially used in a less traffic area. We have all of our turf with engineered blades, with proper installations and infills, they will require barely any maintenance. You will need more infills for higher pile turf, fortunately the cost of the infills are very small compared to overall artificial grass project.
