  • Will the edges of the turf start to flare out over long periods of time? If so, how long?

  • There are two scenarios for your questions regarding the artificial grass’s edges concerns:

    • If you get a piece of turf and using it as a free floating piece, with all the edges exposed without boarders, over time, the edges of the turf can flare out especially given consistent traffic or movements at the edges. In such case, you may want to use some duct tape along the edges of the turf on the backing side to hold the fibers in place better.
    • When installing turf as replacement of natural grass, in most cases, the edges of the turf will connect with either driveway, pavers or concrete, and at the exposing sections to be finished off with artificial grass edging materials such as bender boards or WonderEdges, so in such applications, you won’t need to worry about the fibers along the turf edges being flared out: very similar as the carpets installations, edges of the carpet will be tucked along the walls.
