Client payouts: USDT/USDC vs. Wise vs. PayPal in 2026

Sep 14, 2026 - 6:12 AM

  • Hey everyone, updating my invoice options for overseas clients. PayPal takes 4.5% + FX spread, Wise takes 0.5%–1.2%, but USDC transfers cost me fractions of a cent on Base or Polygon. How many of your clients are open to paying via stablecoins directly? Are you passing network savings onto clients?

  • About 70% of my international clients pay in USDC now. For the ones who were hesitant, I showed them how much we both save on transaction fees. Check out this FintechZoom article (https://fintechzoom.com/cryptocurrencies/stablecoins/stablecoin-transfers-got-cheap/), it gives a great overview of why stablecoin transfer costs dropped so dramatically recently. Sending $2,000 and having $1,999.99 show up in your wallet instantly makes PayPal feel archaic.
