Firewood Usage

How much have you Burned so far .
what Species of Wood do you use .
What month did you start Burning this season ,when does your Firewood usage stop for the season.
Do you use Wood to mainly heat your Home , fireplace?,Woodstove?, fire pit,Cooking Ring.
Do you cut your own Firewood or purchase it.

1800sf manufactured strictly wood stove and I would say 2 cords so far. Took a couple of doug firs in the yard (28”) that were dead, also took out a couple of dogwoods. We started in October and will stop roughly in May depending on how warm it gets up to outside. We don’t want heat in bedroom. It got down to 42° in the master bedroom and was 7° outside. Our woodshed holds roughly 9 cords.

I burn about 3 cords of Douglas fir and madrone each season, mostly October through April. I cut my own on private land, but for convenience I recently ordered kiln-dried oak from https://onestopfuel.ie/collections/best-sellers-2026 and it burns much cleaner than my winter-stored wood. Definitely worth checking out if you want trouble-free heat.
