  • I am currently studying psychology in Australia but i am very unhappy with it. I have no interest in it and I don’t think i can land a job with this major. But few weeks ago, the thought of being a pilot sparked a joy in me, I am not sure what to do next. Should i major in aviation? Or go to another pilot school? What are the steps to become a pilot? How long does it actually take?

  • I'd skip the aviation major. Flight school is enough. Get a medical, train for private and commercial licenses, build hours. Roughly 12-24 months.

  • Switching to aviation is a big step, but it's doable. I looked into https://americanflyers.com/training/commercial/ and found a flexible program that works around your schedule. The steps are clear: private pilot, instrument rating, commercial license, multi-engine, and instructor certification. You can do it part-time while finishing your degree.
