What a nightmare

Se we traveled to OKC on Friday to spend the night and catch a flight to DFW and then connect to another flight to Key West.
At the airport after going through “security”, we found out our connection was scrubbed.
I’m a million miler+ with American having top status with a private number so called them.
Sorry, no flights to that direction for the rest of the day. They did transfer us to United five hours later to fly to Chicago, change planes with a sprint and proceed to our destination.
Arriving, at 10:30 at night with the rental car closed.
Uber to the Navy Inn where we had been assured we could pass through security.
Nope! 11:09 pm, the gate security that could barely speak English said it would be three hours before a security check could be completed.
Valentine’s Day in Key West at 11:00 pm is tough to find a place to stay.
Finally found a place, Uber’d to it and spent the rest of a short night.
For the price we had to pay for a basic hotel room that late at night we could have rented a luxury room in OKC complete with a personal butler, hookers and some blow.
But all is good now.
