Completely random, but it's been the bee in my bonnet for the past week. I ask because I assume most bronco people do their bronco things in a garage with a electric garage opener. I am completely stumped, and I am hoping someone may know something.
Garage door will not open. I push the button to open the door and the light on the opener itself will just flash, and then not open. This would be a different story if the door was already open, and would not close and give me the flashing indication that something is obstructing the safety sensors.
I eliminated the possibility that the infrared sensors are the issue. cleaned them, aligned them, and made sure the indication lights on the sensors are illuminated. Still, the trolley on the track is located in the position where the door would be shut on the garage, and when I push the button to actually open said garage, just a flashing light to tell me something is wrong, and no opening action whatsoever.
I asked what the chain of events that led up to the opener not opening, and this is what I was told.
On the first really cold day of the year, I went out to open the garage. no response from it, so I left it alone for a week. I then went into the garage from the side door and pulled the rope so I could open it manually. After a while, the door would still not work, but I noticed that the chain came off of the sprocket that is attached to the motor on the opener. I put that back on and that's when I noticed that it will not open and will just flash.
Any help is appreciated, and I apologize for the complete randomness of this post!
