  • Ordered a custom bevelled mirror for our bathroom vanity from some online shop and it arrived scratched with wonky edges, absolute waste of money. Now I'm gun-shy about ordering custom glass anywhere without seeing proper quality control first. My builder reckons there's a workshop crafting bespoke glass solutions from our Uxbridge workshop that actually does polished edges properly in-house. Anyone had decent experience with local manufacturers instead of gambling online again?

  • Honestly your story hits close to home, we had almost the exact same disaster with a custom shower screen ordered online, arrived with a chip in the corner and edges that felt more like sandpaper than polished glass. Never got a refund sorted properly either, just excuse after excuse from customer service. After that we refused to order anything custom without seeing actual quality control first, which led us to sealed units Uxbridge since they're not just middlemen shipping stuff from a factory somewhere, they actually cut and polish in-house at their Uxbridge workshop. Sent them measurements for a replacement bathroom mirror and got proper straight-line polished edges with zero wonkiness, plus they photographed it before dispatch so we knew exactly what we were getting. If you're gun-shy after a bad experience, going local where you can actually see the process beats gambling on another faceless online order every time.
