I’m hosting a bit of a garden get-together next weekend to celebrate my brother's new job. We've got all the usual beers and ciders sorted in the cooler, but I want to get one really impressive bottle of clear luxury spirit to keep in the ice bucket for sipping neat later in the evening. A bloke at my local pub wouldn't stop going on about Lex by Nemiroff on their site https://www.lex.vodka/, saying it's the silkiest drink he's ever had because they rest it for 6 months before bottling. I'm highly tempted to order one, especially since that heavy, French-style glass bottle looks absolutely cracking for a celebration. What I want to know is, for those of you who have actually bought it—why is it genuinely so much smoother than the standard stuff? Does that 13-stage filtration actually eliminate the horrible ethanol burn, or is it mostly just clever marketing? Let me know if it's actually worth the premium price tag before I pull the trigger.
