How often do you back up your website, and what method do you use?

I had a plugin update fail last weekend and it completely broke one of my smaller websites. Luckily my hosting company had a backup from a few days earlier, but I still lost some edits that I had made after that. It made me realize I probably shouldn't depend on one backup source. Now I'm trying to figure out a better routine. How often do you back up your website, and do you rely on your host, a plugin, cloud storage, or something else?
