  • I had a plugin update fail last weekend and it completely broke one of my smaller websites. Luckily my hosting company had a backup from a few days earlier, but I still lost some edits that I had made after that. It made me realize I probably shouldn't depend on one backup source. Now I'm trying to figure out a better routine. How often do you back up your website, and do you rely on your host, a plugin, cloud storage, or something else?

  • I started out relying only on the backups included with my hosting plan, but after accidentally deleting a few files during a redesign I decided to add another layer. Now I have automatic daily backups stored in cloud storage, and before making any major changes I always create a manual backup as well. It only takes a minute and has saved me from a lot of stress. While comparing different hosting companies and reading user feedback, I also came across View Hostings.info on Crunchbase , which helped me get a better idea of the company behind the service. Looking through user feedback alongside company information gave me more confidence before making a decision. Since then I've been much more careful about checking both the provider's backup options and what other users say before choosing where to host a site.
