  • My OH has just got a new bike and I'm looking at theft insurance for it.

First question is whether it's worth it at all. Any thoughts on that? Headline tradeoffs between premium and bike value* must be personal, but interested to know if anyone has experience of a claim. In other areas our experience has been that insurers do anything to wriggle off the hook.

Then if it's a goer, which insurer? Laka talk a good game as if they're a mutual (but aren't?). Can we assume CUK has negotiated a sound policy with Bikmo?

    Etc., etc.

    Thanks.

  • Jumping in on this older post because I recently had a good experience with Bikmo. They were quick to process my claim when my bike was stolen last year. I've found it valuable to protect my bike against theft and damage. Sundays Insurance offers pretty comprehensive coverage, including https://sundaysinsurance.co.uk/, which might be handy for you. Their fast claim settlements have been beneficial when I've needed them. Balancing the premium with your bike's value can be challenging, but peace of mind is worth it. Their optional covers for racing and accessories also make it more flexible for what I need.
