I'm writing this as a warning to others because I feel like an absolute idiot. My 2014 Santa Fe started having a slight hesitation between 2nd and 3rd gear about six months ago. It was subtle, so I ignored it. Then a few months later it started flaring, revving up between shifts. I still didn't do anything. Last week on Sheikh Zayed Road, the transmission completely gave out. No forward gears, just revving. Had to get towed home. I took it to a shop and they said the transmission is destroyed, metal throughout the whole system. They quoted me 9,500 dirhams for a replacement. I can't afford that right now. I should have addressed it when it was just a small issue. I started searching online and found https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae but I'm not even sure if my transmission is rebuildable at this point given how bad it is. I guess I'm just here to say: don't be like me. If your transmission feels even slightly off, get it checked immediately by a specialist. A small repair might cost you 2-3k. Waiting until it blows will cost you 10k or more. I'm now stuck with a car I can't drive and can't afford to fix. Learn from my stupidity. Please.
