Why is it so hard to find a normal, non-modded CS installation?

Is it just me, or have modern shooters become absolutely unbearable lately? I tried playing some of the latest AAA titles this weekend, but between the battle passes, skin gambling, and 100GB updates, I just lost my mind. I decided to delete everything and go back to Counter-Strike, the game I actually enjoyed. But here is the problem: I've spent the last three hours trying to find a standard version of the game.
