  • Hello, I'm in need of some inspiration for ideas about how to improve my front garden space.
I'm not a particularly competent or avid gardener but would definitely like to enhance this area as budget friendly as possible!
The current plants are sitting in wood chippings/mulch but they look tired and unloved. Am thinking of maybe removing these and adding potted plants that are easy to maintain? But dont know what to get or where to start! Also want some plants perhaps either side of the front door but again stuck for ideas.

Any ideas about any aspect of the space would be massively appreciated!
    Thank you.

  • I’d sketch a rough layout first, then pick a mix of shrubs and flowers in different heights. I like adding a small path or border edging to give the space some shape.

  • Mixing some structure with a bit of whimsy helped me refresh my own front garden. I added a couple of small anchor shrubs, then filled gaps with easy perennials and a simple mulch path. For a fun touch, I popped in a porch goose and grabbed a few seasonal outfits from https://porchgooseoutfits.com/ so the space changes with the holidays. It surprisingly pulled the whole entryway together.
