  • Been trying to level up my small contracting setup, and I'm stuck choosing between sticking with the old-school drum mixers I know or jumping to these newer mixer models everyone keeps talking about. I do mostly driveway pads and small foundations, nothing huge, but my crew and I are short on time and energy these days. If the newer stuff really speeds things up or saves my back from more abuse, I’m all ears. On the flip side, I hate wasting money on shiny gear that doesn’t actually help. Anyone here been through this and can share what works in real life, not sales talk?

  • Rediscovering this topic and loving the idea of a lighter, power-free mixer like The Steele Mixer. How has it held up over time for those of you who have tried it? I'm curious about its durability long-term and if there are any maintenance tips to keep it running smoothly.

  • Man, if speed and less back-breaking work are what you're after, check out the Steele Mixer. My crew and I switched a while back, and it's like night and day. It handles quite a bit per batch, and trust me, the one-person operation is a game changer. We don’t miss wasting time on maintenance, and quick cleanup means more time knocking off of work. Money spent feels well worth it.
