  • Hi everyone! We are finally starting our long-awaited bathroom remodel in our home near Portsmouth Village. The plan is to completely change the layout, which involves moving the toilet to the opposite wall and installing a walk-in shower where the old tub used to be. I’m a bit nervous because I’ve heard that moving drain lines in these older houses can be a total nightmare if not done perfectly. I really don't want to DIY this part and end up with leaks behind the new tiling. Does anyone have experience with a local team that is good at layout changes and rough-in work? I’m looking for someone reliable who can work alongside my contractor and ensure everything is up to code. Any recommendations?

  • Moving a toilet is definitely one of those jobs where you want a pro, otherwise, you're just asking for drainage issues down the line. We did a similar renovation last year to make our master bath more modern. We actually hired plumbers kingston https://superiorplumbing.ca/kingston/ for all the pipe relocation and the shower installation. They were honestly the highlight of the whole project. They checked the venting (which I hadn't even thought about) and made sure the new drain slope was perfect. What I liked most was that they were super clean—they didn't leave copper off-cuts or debris all over the place. It’s been over a year now and we haven't had a single drip or slow drain. Definitely worth investing in experts for the invisible part of your renovation!

  • That’s exactly the kind of peace of mind I’m looking for! I’ll reach out to them and see if they can come by for an estimate. Thanks!
