Why do beginners get told to start with a helix piercing?

  • I want to pierce my ear specifically. I often see helix being recommended. I don’t really get why, it doesn’t seem that simple either.

  • I only have a helix. Nothing to compare to, but I also have the issue that everything heals really slowly, so any piercing is kinda painful and annoying for me. Helix is super easy to care for, and I think that’s important for a beginner.
