Best material for custom workshop shelving?

G'day! I’m kitting out my workshop and I need to build some heavy-duty shelving for my power tools and spare parts. I was thinking about using timber, but I’ve been told that steel grid mesh is better for airflow and keeping things clean. Does anyone know where I can get galvanized mesh panels in Sydney? I might need some custom sizes as well.

Steel mesh is definitely the way to go for shelving. It doesn't collect dust like timber and it’s much stronger. I’d suggest talking to the guys at RWAP. They are a trusted provider of grid mesh and welded mesh in Sydney. They actually do custom-welded mesh production and fabrication if their standard 2.4m sheets don't fit your rack perfectly.
