  • Hey everyone. I'm expanding my photography workspace to include a small lounge area for clients. I really love the aesthetic of those tall, glass-door commercial display refrigerators for bottled drinks and cold snacks. However, I’ve heard that commercial-grade appliances can be incredibly loud and give off a lot of heat. Has anyone here installed a commercial display fridge in a smaller, quieter space? Is the compressor noise going to ruin the chill vibe?

  • You have to watch your monthly energy bill, too. Commercial display fridges are not insulated like residential ones because they are designed to be opened constantly. The glass doors leak cold air, so the motor works overtime.

  • It will definitely heat up a small room during the warm summer months.

  • If you want to keep the ambient noise down, look for models with bottom-mounted compressors instead of top-mounted ones, as they are usually easier to buffer with acoustic panels. I helped set up a small jazz lounge last year, and we spent weeks researching the decibel levels of various commercial units. While comparing equipment specs, I ended up browsing https://avantco-refrigeration.pissedconsumer.com/review.html to read what other small business owners said about the real-world operational noise and condensation issues of budget-friendly display coolers. We eventually built a custom ventilated alcove around our unit to muffle the motor, which worked perfectly.
