  • In light of the recent Mental Health Crisis that unfolded in ye ol Bear Pit it got me thinking about what I do to reset/ not go insane. I work my ass off managing projects for a large pipeline company, wife is a Neurologist, we have two little kids ect ect, shit gets hectic.

When my wife and I bought our place in the country I dug about an acre pond, the construction, stocking and managing the fish population to grow big bass has become one of my primary ways to reset. It's like an aquarium on steroids, but it's not frowned upon to eat the fish. It's 100' from the back door, just 20-30 mins here and there is instant reset.

  • Some members have said they knew him since he was participating in PRS as a teenager and said he's had a bit of an anger problem.

  • Some days feel like trying to juggle bowling balls, and the only win is not dropping one. What’s helped me is setting tiny non-negotiables, like a 15‑minute walk or a quiet coffee before the chaos wakes up. I’ve also used a depression hotline during a rough patch, and it steadied me more than I expected. Talking to someone outside the grind took some weight off my mind.

  • Totally get this. When life stacks work, family, and responsibility on top of each other, having something that grounds you is everything.
That pond sounds like the perfect kind of reset — physical, quiet, and just far enough removed from the daily chaos to let your head breathe. Twenty minutes of that kind of focus can do more than hours of scrolling.
For me, it’s movement that plays a similar role. I don’t run to chase records — it’s more about clearing the noise and getting back into my body. Events like the mile runs in Poznań (I stumbled on them via https://1mila.pl/poznan) are great because they’re competitive enough to be engaging, but still very human and community-driven.
Different tools, same goal: stay sane, stay present, and keep showing up for the people who matter.
