Is it normal for a brand new Class C to have so many loose screws?

  • We just bought our first brand new motorhome (2025 model) after renting for years. We took it on a maiden voyage to a state park just two hours away, and I swear I found five screws on the floor when we arrived. The trim above the dinette is already sagging, and the bathroom door won't latch properly. Is this normal for a factory-fresh rig, or did I buy a lemon? I expected better quality control for this price!

  • Go to the hardware store and buy a bottle of Blue Loctite. Seriously, put a drop on every metal screw you can access, especially the ones on the window valances and the dashboard. It’s the only way to keep them from backing out on the highway. It’s annoying, but standard maintenance.

  • The microwave trim literally fell off on the drive home! I spent a sleepless night reading through Thor Motor Coach reviews https://thor-motor-coach.pissedconsumer.com/review.html to see if other owners were dealing with the same build quality issues or if I just had bad luck. It turns out it's pretty much an industry-wide standard, unfortunately. Reading through the feedback actually helped me make a checklist of things to inspect, like the plumbing fittings under the sink which were barely hand-tight. You just have to be handy to own an RV.
