This is the 2nd time this has happened to me. The first was after my mother passed away.
I work in an HR department. I have access to every employees personal information. My coworkers do as well. We all work remotely only going into the office 2 or 3 times a year.
After my mother passed away a co worker went into the system to get my home address and mail me a card.
Now 3 years later a different coworker went into the system to get my address and mail me a valentines card with a gift card.
Both times I am not very close to the person sending the card. We talk in meetings but nothing else. It's two different people.
I don't kkow if it is crossing a link since she would probably have given me the card if we are in office. But also I didn't give her my address. I doubt if I reported it to my supervisor if she would do anything and would feel like I'm not a team player. But also we are using our access to handle business things and she did it to send a random card.
Is this misuse of the system? She had no reason to access my file for anything business related.
