  • Give me some advice on choosing a TPMS programming tool. We’re starting to replace more tire-pressure sensors, and I need a device that can read existing sensor IDs, clone new ones, activate aftermarket sensors and perform OBD relearning. I found a tool that claims to support both 315 MHz and 433 MHz sensors, but I’m not sure how well universal TPMS tools work on mixed fleets. Are they reliable for daily shop use?

  • Universal TPMS tools have improved a lot. They read and clone most common sensors without issues, especially if you keep the firmware updated. The OBD relearn function saves a ton of time on cars that don’t support automatic calibration.

  • If your workshop handles regular tire service, a TPMS programming tool is extremely helpful—accurate ID cloning, quick sensor activation and seamless OBD relearning make the workflow much faster.
