  • Hey Everyone,

I tried generating a VCF file from my Excel sheet, but the output contains only a single contact entry. My Excel sheet has around 300 contacts, so I have no idea why only one shows up. I used two different Excel to VCF Converter tools and still faced the same issue. I’m wondering if this happens because my Excel rows are not properly aligned or because the vCard structure doesn’t allow batch entries. I also noticed my email column had a few empty cells could that cause the tool to stop reading further rows? Before I try again, I want to understand what usually causes only one contact to be exported when trying to Convert Excel to VCF in bulk.

  • Hi,

This‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ problem is most often caused by an Excel sheet that has formatting issues or hidden breaks. VCF files can easily handle multiple contacts, so the issue is not with the vCard format. Ensure that:

    There are no merged cells.

Each row has at least one valid field.

There are no extra spaces or line breaks in cells.

The header row is properly recognized.

Sometimes converters stop reading after the first row if the header mapping fails. With a tool like WholeClear Excel to vCard Converter, which supports manual field mapping, you can be sure that every row will be recognized. If you want batch output, remove the empty rows and make sure the columns are consistent. Any good free Excel to vCard converter will complete the export of all contacts after the structure has been ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌fixed.
