Square for small business payments

Square is everywhere now for small business payments, but I’ve heard both positive and negative stories about withheld funds, ease of use, and customer support. What have you experienced running it for real transactions?

I paid attention to square reviews before linking it to my shop. Transactions cleared almost instantly, and card readers worked well even during busy days. Once, a payment flagged for review caused a brief delay, but documentation solved it. Overall, those square reviews were accurate in describing both speed and occasional review holds.
