Best ways to keep rodents out of the garage

Hi guys, I’m looking for some recommendations. I’ve got a garage where I keep tools and sometimes food supplies, and recently rodents have started sneaking in. I’ve tried sealing cracks and setting traps, but they’re still showing up. I really don’t want to use poison because I have pets around, and I’d prefer something safe but reliable.
