  • I’ve been wondering lately about the legal side of AI image tools. Like, is it actually legal to manipulate someone’s image with AI if you don’t have their permission? Especially with tools that can change clothes or modify someone’s body. It feels like we’re entering a grey zone that the law hasn’t fully caught up with yet. Does anyone here know if there are actual cases or laws dealing with this?

  • Yeah, this is definitely a messy area. I looked into it a bit last year when I started experimenting with AI tools for artistic projects. The thing is, legality depends a lot on the jurisdiction. For example, in the U.S., you’ve got “right to publicity” laws in some states — which basically say people have control over how their likeness is used. But those laws vary widely. In Europe, GDPR adds a whole other layer when personal data is involved.

I tested a few AI platforms to see how they handled these issues, and I stumbled upon this website The website allows you to upload photos and see AI-generated transformations — including undressing features.

  • obviously, this raises a ton of ethical and legal concerns, especially if people are using it on images that aren’t theirs. There’s no explicit warning or legal disclaimer on the homepage either, which is kind of wild.
