Based on my experience, decking is quite slippery when wet so I'm planning to install fake grass over it instead. Is it advisable to do that?

You sure can! Quite honestly, I am not sure if the artificial grass will resolve your “slippery” concerns especially when it gets wet: like anything that can get slippery when gets wet same applies to artificial grass. However, I personally think the slipperiness of wet artificial grass might be less than a bare decking surface. I don’t think it is a good reason of slipperiness to have artificial grass cover deck, rather, people use artificial grass for its look and landscape functionality, also to cover the deck, the artificial grass might be the only option to achieve a landscape design: you simply can’t grow real grass on a deck surface.
