  • With experiences and skills, seams of artificial grass can be invisible. When you are joining two pieces of artificial grass together, it is very important that you have to make sure that the pieces of turf are from the same dye lot: when artificial grass is manufactured, there are different batches (dye lots) for each production, this is very similar to carpet. So even the same product, made from different dye lot, the color and shape can be a little different, and you can notice some of the differences when you put two different dye lot together.
Once you have two pieces of the same dye lot, at the installation, you will need to make sure the fibers of each piece facing the same directions when you placing them together: artificial grass fibers have directions, this is again very similar as patterns of carpets.
It will require some experiences and skills to do a good seeming job on artificial grass, you will need to use seaming tape, nails and glues to join the two pieces together:
First, lay the seaming tape right down the middle of the joint.
Second, secure the seaming tape onto the sub base by using nails
Third, apply turf glues on the seaming tape.
Forth, join the two pieces together
Last, put nails along the joints.
The nailing on both the seaming tape and the joints should be at 4-6 apart.
