  • This is a question you might want to address to your deck expert or home inspection experts. It is absolutely a good solution to cover old deck surface with artificial grass, it is a great way to transform your aged and boring looking deck surface into a lovely and vibrant green grass. Installing artificial turf on a deck surface is very simple and fairly easy as you won’t need to worry about building the sub base for such installations. Most of deck materials are designed for outside and should last you a long while, installing artificial grass on a deck won’t make your deck rot, however, you want to make sure that your deck is structurally sound, therefore it will be a good idea that you can inspect your decking’s structural integrity before installing artificial turf over it.

  • I think no since one of the reason of rotting deck is being moist all of the time. Since artificial turf has good drainage, there's no way you're deck will rot.
