I only have enough budget to install artificial grass on my lawn but looking forward to installing some on our alley in a few months as well. Will I be able to get the same shade?

Dye lot can be a very important piece of the puzzle when undergoing a large artificial grass project or when you're using several smaller cuts. Dye lot in artificial turf is very similar to that of dye lot in other flooring products. The group of products done in each manufacturing run has a dye lot number associated with it so that they all have the same color when they come out.
When a customer has turf in their backyard that they really love, sometimes they want to add the same turf six or seven months after the initial manufacturing run has been made on their artificial grass. Our clients want to match the turf and color and come to us in hopes that we have it in one of our warehouses. Where we run into most problems however is when a manufacturing run is made for any artificial grass product, reproducing or matching the exact color used is very difficult the next time you do a run three or four or five months down the road.
If you do not match the dye lot, it can go unnoticed and you'll be fine. However, to others, it might be noticeable, especially if the old turf is right up against the newer one. So when doing an add on, it is very important to inform the customer that the dye lots may not match or at least know how to work your system to request a matching dye lot. It’s all about managing customer expectations in order to avoid future complications.
Now you can actually save up and find the same turf shade when you have enough savings. Great one!
Maybe you can request samples so you can check which one complements to the color of your prior artificial grass.
